Quality Assurance: High-quality project implementation requires full compliance with customer requirements by the time of final product delivery and implementation of the project on time and within budget. Quality system. The process of development and implementation of IT systems in Aplana is organized in accordance with PMI – international project management standards. Project Audit is an important component of the quality system. Requirements management during the project. In many cases the initial task does not fully reflect customer requirements, and the customer needs to modify the requirements when the process of development is well underway. Requirements management tools and iterative development approach make it possible to change the system in accordance with changing requirements. Control of conformity with requirements is part of the quality system at all stages of the project. Development of prototypes of business logic, functionality and stylistics of user interface enables the customer to get the "touch and feel" of the would-be system at early stages of the project and helps to detect and eliminate non-conformity with requirements which reduces the time and the cost of development. Visual modeling (UML). Development of diagrams demonstrating functionality of the system makes it possible for the project parties "to speak the same language" at all stages of system development. Customer feedback. Early notice about bugs and defects helps the developer to reduce the period of live testing (or pilot operation) of the system. It is also important to get timely feedback during the warranty support period. Internet access to the project repository allows the customer to record all complaints directly in the change management database and to monitor their status afterwards. Functional and load testing is carried out according to specially developed testing plans and scenarios which allow us to take into account all aspects of system operation and to check the system in a realistic environment before submitting it to pilot operation. Risk Reduction: To reduce project implementation risks it is necessary to have – apart from development experience and ample resources – a well-established methodology ensuring predictable results and transparency of the development process. Customer relations. Customer representatives take active part in the process of development and are included in the project team. Iterative development approach reduces risks related to changing requirements. The customer gets intermediate versions of the system, which prevents the situation when the final system does not conform to vital requirement omitted in the initial task. Project risk management. Project risks are various "unforeseen situations" stemming, for instance, from incompatibility of development platforms. A list of possible risks and a plan of actions aimed at their elimination are compiled prior to project implementation and are corrected in the course of the project. Transparency of development process to the customer. Internet access to project materials helps the customer to monitor the status of individual tasks and the project as a whole. Project organization: High-quality project implementation and risk reduction is ensured by optimized project organization which includes development infrastructure and a well-regulated quality system. Industrial design and development tools are used at all stages of the project. They include specialized tools for designing, project management, change management, automatic testing, etc. which makes it possible for us to implement projects of any complexity. Common project repository. To organize efficient interaction between members of the project team we set up a common project repository accessible to local as well as external members of the project via Internet. The repository includes the project plan, a model of system requirements, a database of detected faults and defects, a version database. Quality system. The process of development and implementation of IT systems in Aplana is organized in accordance with PMI – international project management standards. Project Audit is an important component of the quality system. |
